You’ll know what’s happening, what it costs and when, before anything starts.

  1. Tell us about your book

Fill in the form below. It takes a couple of minutes.

  2. We talk

A short call about your books, your readers and what you’d like. Then a plan and a quote, in plain English.

You write, post news and sign books. We look after the rest, and you can add services whenever you like.

About Lochlytic

We love books. That’s the whole point.

The people who write the best books rarely want to spend their evenings on websites, file formats and sales dashboards. We do. Reading is what we do with our spare time, and helping good books find their readers is what we do with the rest of it.

You deal with a real person who understands both the writing side and the technical and commercial side: domains, shops, printers, Amazon’s categories and keywords. Straight answers, plain English, and nothing hidden in the small print.

  • Made by people, start to finishWe don’t take on AI-written books, and we don’t use AI for writing, editing or cover art. Creative work stays with people.
  • AI-smart on your behalfWe set things up to make it as hard as we can for your words and artwork to be scraped, copied or used to train AI, and we’ll tell you plainly what can and can’t be prevented.
  • Your name on everythingYour domain, your Stripe account, your reader list. We just look after them.

Questions

What authors usually ask

Do I own my website, domain and reader list?

Yes. Your domain is registered in your name, your readers pay into your own Stripe account, and your newsletter list lives in your own account with the newsletter provider. We look after the technical settings while you’re with us.

What happens if I want to leave?

You keep your domain, your Stripe account and your newsletter list, and we export your posts, orders and subscribers for you. Plans are month to month, so there’s nothing to get out of.

How do payments from book sales reach me?

Readers pay you directly through your own Stripe account, which pays out to your bank. Lochlytic invoices you separately, once a month, for your plan and any printing and handling.

How long does it take?

It depends on what you need. We give you a timeline with your quote, and a website never goes live until you’ve seen it and approved it.

Do I need to be technical?

No. You write, post your news and sign your books. We handle the rest, and we explain things in plain English.

Do you work with authors outside Canada and the UK?

Yes, anywhere in the world. Printed copies currently ship to the UK, the US, Canada, Australia and New Zealand; readers elsewhere are pointed to your other retailers.

Can I pick just one service?

Yes. Take one service on its own or put several together. Every plan is built around what you need.

Can I still sell on Amazon?

Of course. Your website links to every store that sells your books, and we can set those stores up for you too.

Who handles returns?

You’re the seller, and we handle returns and replacements for you day to day.

Get started

Tell us about your book

A couple of minutes now, and a real reply within two working days.

What happens next: we read what you’ve sent, then get in touch to arrange a short call. After that you get a plan and a quote, and you decide.

“I’m not technical, and I’d been putting off a proper website for years. Lochlytic built one that feels like my books, moved my domain across, set up my email and newsletter, and explained every step without a word of jargon. Readers can find me, follow my news and buy my books, and I can get back to writing.”
